    WORKSHOPS

    Fun, interactive sessions that introduce, contextualise, and model spoken word poetry, and engage students with a number of writing and performing exercises that subtly engender confidence and bring English language skills to the fore.

    An excellent way to engage even the most reticent or nervous student in speaking and listening to English and to create enthusiasm for linguistic creativity.

    EVENTS 

    The option of an event showcasing a diverse range of spoken word poetry professionals, which give workshop participants the opportunity to perform their newly created (or pre-existing) pieces in front of an audience of peers, poets, and teachers. Established relationships with venues and performers in Oxford and London, as well as in Brighton, Cambridge, Bristol, Bath, and Southampton. Performances, accommodation, meals, or tours can be organised as part of a package in any UK town or city upon request.

    ABOUT STEVE LARKIN

    Steve Larkin is a former International Poetry Slam Champion and university lecturer in poetry, storytelling, and creative writing who was nominated for Oxford Professor of Poetry in 2010. He is the founder and president of poetry slam organisation Hammer & Tongue and a firm favourite with live literature audiences worldwide.  He is published by Burning Eye.

    Steve has many years of experience of inspiring young people as a poet, musician, and educator.   He holds up-to-date DBS certificate /  Public Liability Insurance.
